Description
English: John McNeil Studio co-director Brandon Kuchta helped turn the origami designs into moving imagery using Amazon’s EC2, or Elastic Compute Cloud.

The McNeil team needed to render 9,000 hours of digital artwork. If they had to use only one in-house computer, it would've taken a year and yet they had a week to do the rendering phase of this particular project. Using their internal render farm, it would've taken more like six weeks to render everything.
