Brahmanal at Pashupatinath Aryaghat, Kathmandu. Also called Tarkeshwar Mahadev. There is a small hole in the front of this Brahmanal and there is a Shivalinga of Tarkeshwar Mahadev and a slope is made in the shape of a stone man to sleep.

Description
English: Brahmanal at Pashupatinath Aryaghat, Kathmandu. Also called Tarkeshwar Mahadev. There is a small hole in the front of this Brahmanal and there is a Shivalinga of Tarkeshwar Mahadev and a slope is made in the shape of a stone man to sleep. After taking the dead to Pashupati, they are first laid to rest in this Brahmanal. The corpse is purified there. Relatives pour holy water into the mouths of the dead. The corpse is bathed in holy water. The relatives bid farewell with flowers, garlands and abir. When a corpse is touched by a relative, you should not have anything made of leather like belt, purse etc. with you. Brahmanal is the place where Tarkeshwar Mahadev consecrates the corpse. After that, the corpse is taken to a pyre and cremated.
