The Met owns this pristine ceramic bottle from the Cupisnique culture in what is now the northern Peruvian coast, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupisnique" rel="noreferrer nofollow">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupisnique</a> -- and I'll be adding this great piece to that article shortly. The human race has many failings, but it has also created a great many beautiful art-works! Here's another. |
