Description

An immaculate ex- Ribble Atlantean NCK365 in Boon's Claret and cream livery speeds towards Chelmsford for a schools contract c. 1974 in Main Road, Springfield. Behind the bus was the original long straight drive to New Hall Convent School, built in the 16th century. This lodge house was derelict at the time and will surely have been demolished since. The old route,via a telephone operated level crossing, to the school had been out of use since the Boreham bypass was built c.1970-1971 The appearance is slightly altered in this later picture...
