Description An airstrip was built on the arsenal to accommodate the planes used to test clusters of incendiary bombs and smoke grenades. An additional proofing area, known as the South Bombing Range, was completed in May 1943. By July, a 500-foot concrete bombing mat had also been finished, and the first skate tests and 4,000-foot drop tests of M50 incendiary bombs were conducted.
