Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bomb crater. The stone wall is the same one as is shown in 1757521. The crater is 6 to 7 metres across. There was a WWII decoy site located to the east, although, at a distance of 1.5km, it was not particularly close to this spot: 1757962. See 1758920 and 1758921 for a pair of shallower craters that are located closer to the decoys.

For the snow-covered background hills visible just right of centre, see 1757476; the range of hills visible in the photo extends to Creuch Hill (NS2668), near the right-hand edge.

Note, directly above the second sheep from the left, a tiny but distinctive bump on the horizon (this is best seen on a larger image – see the "more sizes" link); this is distant Ailsa Craig (NX0199), about 86km away.
