Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Bolton Priory Bolton Priory was founded in 1151 by Alicia de Romilly. Her mother had endowed a priory for Augustinian canons at nearby Embsay in 1120, but Alicia had them moved here. The church is ruined at its eastern end, but the west end is in use as the parish church. Most of what can be seen here is of the 13th century. |
