| Description |
English: Bolster Moor, Golcar (1) One feature of the West Yorkshire Pennines is a rounded plateau or ridge projecting from a hill. This photograph shows the eastern side of a ridge sloping gently from east (left) to west, where it ends in a steep escarpment (not in this view). Heath House Mill is in the distance on the left, near the head of a steep valley. The straight roads were probably set out by enclosure commissioners. The land is quite high, around 270m AOD, but there are many houses. The view is from Pike Law Road on the slopes of Scapegoat Hill. |
