Description
English:
Saint Ladislaus Church (other name Makó-Újváros Roman Catholic Church). The former church (1256 or before) destroyed under Ottoman period (16-17th cent.). Since 1874 a school-chapel operated in the neighborough. The Gothic Revival church built in 1912-13. Parish church since 1933. Its roof burned down in 1944. In 1975 the roof rnovated. Holy Trinity by Mihály Bánszky (facade mosaic, 1913 works) A facade plaque refer to the Búza street catholic old school. Inside stainde glass windows: Saint Ladislaus, Saint Stephen, Saint Paulina, Saint Francis Xavier, Saint Joseph, Saint Thomas. Furniture: Imre Kucses, master carpenter from Makó. The three-part main altar was made with an altarpiece of Saint Ladislaus. In the transept, the altar of the Heart of Jesus and the altar of the Virgin Mary were made in 1913. The altar of St. Vendel and the altar of the Virgin Mary of Sorrows under the choir were also made in 1934. There is also an altar of the Holy Sepulchre. Stone wayside cross with cast iron corpus made in 1833 (1803), relocated in the churchyard after 1880, renovated in 1961. Szent László király-templom (Makó-Újvárosi római katolikus templom). 'Rk. Templom és parókia' helyi védelem (Széchenyi u. 57.! címen) azonosító: -12029 Szentháromság mozaik (Avatás 1913., Bánszky Mihály (tervező, közreműködő); szekkó kép található aranyozott mozaik háttérrel) Középpontban, a katolikus kereszten a Szentlélek galamb alakjában van ábrázolva. Felhőn ülve, bal oldalon Krisztus alakja, jobb oldalon az Atya fehér szakállas, idős alakja van ábrázolva, mindketten egyik lábukat a glóbuszra helyezve. A templom üvegablakai: Szent László, Szent István, Szent Paulina, Xavéri Szent Ferenc, Szent József, Szent Tamás. Bútorzat: Kucses Imre makói asztalosmester. A hármas tagolásu főoltár Szent László oltárképpel készült. A kereszthajóban Jézus Szíve oltár, és Szűz Mária oltár 1913-ban készült. A Szent Vendel oltár, és a kórus alatti Fájdalmas Szűz Mária oltár is 1934-ben készült. Van még Szent Sír oltár is A márványtáblájának felirata: Az orgonát Isten dicsőségére adományozta özv. Dégi Istvánné Horváth Erszsébet 1936-ban. 1833-ban készül vörös márványból faragott kereszt rajta a vasból öntött aranyozott Megváltó alakjával Felirata: " Simon Regina Lakatos János özvegye költségén állítatott MDCCCIII " megj. ez 1803! nem 33! 1880 után az utcáról áthelyezték a templomkertbe az újvárosi imaház mellé.
