English: Boar's Head 6233 Duchess of Sutherland passes beneath Boar's Head bridge (A49) heading for Carlisle. To the left of the loco is the old junction to the "LNW/L&Y Joint" line to Adlington. This junction was also the site of Boar's Head station (opened in 1869, closed in 1949). The line to Adlington closed in 1971.
