The Biwa trout(or Biwa salmon) which returned to a river which flowed into the northern Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, Japan for spawning. Breeding color has appeared.

This trout is endemic species of Lake Biwa in Japan.

学名：Oncorhynchus masou rhodurus

ビワマスは、日本のja:琵琶湖にのみ生息するja:固有種。低水温を好むため、琵琶湖北部を中心に生息する。

撮影のため、婚姻色が発現し産卵期に遡上する成魚をメリケン・ステーツが捕獲し自身が撮影（上はオス-51.5cm　下はメス-43cm）。乱獲防止のため、河川名は伏せます。
