Summary[edit]

Description
English: Waterloo (Belgium), Fine bronze eagle statue. – A commemorative monument of the Battle of Waterloo that used to stand in front of the "Bivouac de l'Empereur" inn. Since this photograph was taken, along with some other buildings, the building that contained the "Bivouac de l'Empereur" has been demolished, to make way for new facilities at the Lion Mound in time for the bicentennial commemoration of the battle in 2015. During the redevelopment of the site the Eagle was restored and relocated close to its original position (Waterloo Lion Renovation Weekly).
