Description

Birds foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus) is a perennial flowering plant that is a member of the pea family and is common throughout the UK. It takes its name from the appearance of the seed pods, which resemble a birds clawed foot.

This wildflower is common in all types of grassland and is often found in free draining sandy sites.
