Blue Budgerigars: ()ur member Mr. J. W. Marsdenhas already two of this lovely variety among his young birdsthis season; also one young ))arti-coloured bird, green withnumerous blue areas. A few ^veeks ago I sent you a few notes on my GreenFruit Pigeons, and remarked therein that I had neither seenthem on the ground, nor drinking water. Since writing thosenotes, my birds have, strange to say. elected to go to nest on theground, and are regularly seen at the water vessel Of coursethe conditions at the present time are as different as possibleto what they were in the winter. Xow the weather is extremelyhot. and. besides that, they have a hungry young one to feed, soa certain quantity of water is necessary to them. but. I still thinkthat in cool weather they can do very well without it. At theend of April the hen began to do a good deal of singing, towhich the cock by no means responded, so. as our Editor wasat that time advertising an odd hen, I decided to secure it. andsee what a change of wives would do.
