Summary[edit]

Description
English: Binton Bridges, Welford-on-Avon Binton Bridges cross the River Avon between Binton and Welford-on-Avon, the plural term being explained by the use of two islands in the river as intermediate “stepping stones”. During the 19th century the river here was the boundary between Gloucestershire (on the Welford side) and Warwickshire but today the whole area is in Warwickshire. These arches at the Welford end of the bridge are the oldest and date from 1804-09. The furthest arch, adjacent to one of the islands, is also the navigation arch for boats cruising the river from Stratford to Evesham and Tewkesbury, as indicated by the blue arrow above it. The photograph is taken from the garden of the "Four Alls" pub in Welford, looking downriver.
