VERMONT & MASSACHUSETTS RAILROAD. 59 TABLE I. ACCIDENTS. Total number of persons killed, 3 Total number of persons injured but not killed, 0 George Johnson, of Athol- 15 years of age, was runover and killed, while lying on track, by evening passen-ger train, near Templeton station, December 6, 1864, be*tween 8 and nine oclock. Coroners jury returned verdiet, that no blame is attached to the Railway Company. February 28, 1865. Edwin EL Tottingham, of Waltham,was run over and killed, by passenger train, at Groutsstation, while attempting to get upon the train after ithad left the depot. Coroners jury rendered verdict,that no blame is attached to the company. June 3, 1865. B. F. D. Gibbs, brakeman on freighttrain, in climbing from door on side of drovers saloon carto top of same, was struck by a telegraph pole standingbeside the track, near Ewing station, and he died June6th.
