Summary[edit]

Description
Français : D'architecture gothique, l'ancienne Église anglicane St-Matthew et son cimetière ont été classés monuments historiques en 1978 et offerts à la Ville de Québec en 1979. L'Église a été reconvertie en bibliothèque municipale en 1979. Quant a son cimetière, il fut fermé dès 1860 suite à un interdit du Parlement Canadien "d'inhumer aucun corps dans le cimetière connu sous le nom de cimetière anglais - parce qu'il - est au milieu d'une grande population et est devenu une grave nuisance". Situé au 755 rue St-Jean, le cimetière qui contient les restes de soldats britaniques morts lors de l'invasion de 1759 serait, semble-t-il, hanté par des gothiques la nuit !!!
