Summary[edit]

Description
English: Beverley Minster, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
One of the finest Gothic churches in the country, Beverley Minster is a significant landmark for miles around. John, Bishop of York, who was later canonised, founded the original monastery around the year 718 on the site now occupied by the Minster. Construction of the building began in 1220 and continued until 1425, with later centuries adding further elements. It is a living parish church and very much at the heart of the community. The large open grassed area to the south of the minster is Hall Garth.
