Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Berwick Coastwatch Station This building was erected in 1964 by HM Coastguard but it was closed in 1968 due to government cut backs. It was used as a store by the neighbouring Magdalene Fields Golf Club, but after a major refurbishment project, it was opened again on 1st November 2003. Volunteer watchkeepers now man the building at weekends throughout the year. As I approached the building volunteers were boarding up the windows and locking up until the next watch in six days time. (Source: site information board). |
