Verkommt immer mehr zum Abenteuerspielplatz für Turis. Dazu spricht das Denkmal auch den Besucher emotional nicht an - dass es auch anders geht zeigt eindrucksvoll das Denkmal für die Sinti und Roma unweit des Reichstages. Ein Holcaust-Denkmal ist wichtig und notwendig. Dieses Denkmal finde ich jedoch misslungen. Es hat keine Würde. Und wenn es etwas gibt auf das Worte wie "klotzig" und "hingeklotzt" zutreffen, dann ist es dieses Betonklotzlabyrinth. Der Entwerfer kannte wohl das deutsche Wort "Klotz" nicht. Mag sein, wenn man es - da es ja bereits überall zerfällt - dem natürlichen Zerfall überlassen würde und wenn sich Birken darin ansiedeln würden, dass es dann irgendwann ein Ort der Besinnung und des Gedenkens werden könnte. So ist es einfach nur häßlich und kalt und Beton. More and more it degenerates into an adventure playground for tourists. The monument also does not appeal to the visitor emotionally - the monument for the Sinti and Roma not far from the Reichstag impressively shows that there is another way. A Holcaust monument is important and necessary. However, I find this monument unsuccessful. It has no dignity. And if there's something that words like "blocky" and " stacked" apply to, then it's this concrete block maze. The designer probably didn't know the German word "Klotz". Maybe if it were left to natural decay - since it is already decaying everywhere - and if birch trees settled in it, it could become a place of reflection and remembrance at some point. So it's just ugly and cold and concrete |
