Description
Deutsch: Altbau am ehemaligen Berliner Sitz des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung, Hannoversche Straße 30, in Berlin-Mitte, heute Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie. Das Gebäude wurde 1913 als Kaserne erbaut und 1949 von Hans Scharoun zum Bürogebäude umgebaut. Zwischen 1972 und 1990 diente es als Sitz der Ständigen Vertretung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in der DDR. Das Gebäude ist als Baudenkmal gelistet.
English: Old building part of the complex of the former Berlin seat of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Hannoversche Straße 30, in Berlin-Mitte, tody used by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The building from 1913 originally served as barrack and was remodelled into an office building by Hans Scharoun in 1949. From 1972 to 1990 it served as the seat of the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany in the GDR. The building has been designated as a historic landmark.
