Summary[edit]

Description ODOT used rapid replacement to replace two bridges so close to the Elk Creek tunnel on Oregon 38 (left) that there was no room for a detour bridge. Installing the first new bridge (right) over a weekend saved motorists from six months of daily lane closures or a 40-mile detour.
