Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bee on the Bank of Burstwick Drain, Hedon, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
Burstwick Drain removes rainwater from the rich and flat agricultural land in the south west corner of Holderness in East Yorkshire into the River Humber at Saltend. Two years ago, due to an unprecedented amount of rain that fell within a very short time, the drain quickly became overloaded and burst its banks into populated areas of the town of Hedon. Part of the problem seemed to be the woody heavy undergrowth, found on either side of the drain, which hindered the drain's flow. To remedy this, the undergrowth has been removed by the Environment Agency, but Mother Nature has quickly replaced it with a plethora of thistles and nettles! The bee has merely taken advantage of the situation!
