Summary[edit]
DescriptionBeckton STP, Secondary Settling Tank - geograph.org.uk - 1481916.jpg |
English: Beckton STP: Secondary Settling Tank The effluent from the 1481906 is pumped into these tanks. It contains a suspension of flocs, mainly of micro-organisms. These are allowed to settle to the bottom as secondary sludge. The supernatant flows into the circular channels. By now it is ready for discharge into the river 1481935. The sludge (together with the primary sludge) is taken to the 1481947. Some of the sludge, however, is retained as a seed for the 1481906, to activate the process. |
