Description
English: Autumn. Wool and silk tapestry. Design by Theude Gronland (1817-1876), 1845. Woven by Rigobert Milice, 1846. Royal Beauvais Manufactory. At the Paris Salon of 1845, Gronland exhibited four small paintings depicting the seasons. This still life with a statuette of Bacchus and fall fruit and foliage is copied from his painting representing autumn. Bequest of Julie Heidelbach, 1932. 35.116.6
