Summary[edit]

Original description:At first the beach area was heavilly littered with much debris. How ever intense efforts have paid off and nearly all of the almost 30 miles of beach is reopened and restored. The beach has been compleatly cleared of its storm debris. Also, a now much larger area of the beach in sizable sections, has been set aside for wild life restoration efforts, these sections are to only be visited from a distance to save endangered wildlife. Personnel assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 74 use front-end loaders to clear debris buried in the sand along the Gulf of Mexico shoreline near Biloxi, Mississippi, March 2, 2006. The sailors joined volunteers from the surrounding community and across the nation in a continuing effort to clean up and rebuild the Gulf Coast region following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
