Zij vraagt voor Adonia om de hand van Abisag. Salomo wordt woedend en geeft opdracht Adonia te doden. Op de achtergrond wordt Adonia met een lans doorstoken. Onder de voorstelling een verwijzing in het Latijn naar de Bijbeltekst in 1 Kon. 2. Vervaardiging Vervaardiger: prentmaker: Hans Collaert (I) (toegeschreven aan), naar ontwerp van: Jan Snellinck (I), uitgever: Claes Jansz. Visscher (II) (vermeld op object) Plaats vervaardiging: Amsterdam Datering: 1579 en/of 1596 - 1643 Fysieke kenmerken: gravure met de hand gekleurd in goudverf Materiaal: papier Techniek: graveren (drukprocedé) / met de hand kleuren Afmetingen: plaatrand: h 190 mm × b 244 mm Toelichting Deze staat wordt niet beschreven in The New Hollstein. De prent mist het seriemerk cc linksboven, maar is wel uitgegeven door Claes Jansz. Visscher (II). Latere staat van prent gebruikt in: Theatrum biblicum : hoc est historiae sacrae veteris et novi testamenti tabulis aeneis expressae.
