Title
English: Barracks, Fort Lawton, Washington, 1900
Description
English: Text from Kiehl log: Barracks. Fort Lawton. 1900 . Album 3.001
  • Subjects (LCTGM): Barracks--Washington (State)--Seattle
  • Subjects (LCSH): Fort Lawton (Seattle, Wash.); United States. Army--Barracks and quarters; Military bases--Washington (State)--Seattle
  • Concepts: War and the military

Appears to be the same building as File:EAST (PRINCIPAL) FRONT, TAKEN FROM NORTHEAST (8' x 10' neg.) - Fort Lawton, Double Barracks, Discovery Park, Seattle, King County, WA HABS WASH,17-SEAT,1-F-1.tif, though there may have been one other just like this at Fort Lawton. Federal gov't (HABS) notes on that image say "first occupied in July of 1901", and if this is accurately dated, it would be a year before that. Presumably that is consistent with the description there of being constructed 1899; no explanation is given for the hiatus.
