Description
English: First the "bari"(Pyramid shaped,found in grocery store) is fried.Then "paanch phodan"(a mixture of 5 principle spices in India) is added to mustard oil.Then small potato pieces are fried in oil along with green chilli.It is boiled with water,pinch of turmeric powder and salt for a while,after frying.Then "khas-khas" or "Pastu" paste is added to cooked potato.The already fried "Bari" pieces are also added to cooked potato.When 70%-80% water has been soaked by potato containing "bari" and "pastu",1-2 teaspoon mustard oil is added. Finally,we get a golden yellow colour lavish dish,usually served with hot with rice,generally.Usually this food is cooked in West-Bengal and North-East India.
