Summary[edit]
DescriptionBantam answering machine Rewind idler bush (9586278739).jpg |
The rewind idler is mounted on an arm that is supposed to slide freely on a bush. The original parts were a tiny bush and a washer (centre bottom of the picture) which did not correctly locate it. The arm was also burred around the moung slot in an attempt to keep it in the right place. This meant the magnet pulley was not engaged in record/play mode. After filing off the burrs, it engaged too far and the left hand spindle was driven in both rewind (correct) and fast-forward (wrong) modes. So I turned a little brass bush (bottom right of the picture) of the correct size. |
