Summary[edit]

Description
English: The graceful banded bay cuckoo, adorned with intricate fine barring and a gentle pale countenance, frequents the lush lowland and foothill forests, where it often melds seamlessly into the verdant foliage. Its melodious calls, ranging from the high rising "smoke-yer-pep-per!" to a series of ascending whistles, resonate through the woodland canopy.

This species, known for its round nostrils, graces the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, favoring well-wooded habitats, particularly in the lower hills. However, despite their captivating presence, banded bay cuckoos are elusive, often heard but rarely seen due to their shy nature and penchant for secrecy.
