| Description |
English: Banc y Garn Trig Point A secondary order Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar which stands in a clearing in the forestry at Banc y Garn. Although there is now no defined path leading to the pillar, access is relatively straightforward across rough/boggy grass and through an immature fir tree plantation.
According to the OS records, this pillar was computed into the triangulation network in 1952 and last maintained in 1975. It is no longer used but appears to be in good order. The height is given as 437.69 metres with easting of 270679.438 and northing of 284405.875. My GPS had it at 270680 and 284409. The flush bracket number is S5480. |
