Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This building at 5311 Ballard Ave NW was built approximately 1900. It was originally divided into two stores; the northern half was originally occupied by Benjamin Freyd's clothing store while the State Bank of Ballard opened in the southern half in June 1905. The bank was reorganized in 1910 as the German-American Bank and relocated to downtown Seattle, after which this building was remodeled into a single large store for the Peterson Hardware Company. Used as warehouse space for years, the facade has recently been restored into retail use.
