| Description |
English: Balfour street, Shapinsay The former MP for Orkney, David Balfour, laid out the estate village on the site of Shapinsay's main village of Shoreside, in order to accommodate the skilled workers who helped to build Balfour Castle in the mid 1800s. Balfour persuaded the Post Office to rename the village after him. |
