| Description | One of the very few shrines in Nepal I managed to photograph the sanctum of- the other was in the grounds of the Budhanilkanth temole in Khatmandu, Nepal. (see Kathmandu album). This little roadside temple was located adjacent to the shop selling those vibrating Nepalese bowls (see previous pictures) in Bhaktapur, Nepal. Being a simple roadside temple, and just outside the main Durbar Square, there was no one near it. I was taken in by the briliang bold shield above the sanctum, and so took this shot, much to the alarm of my local Bhaktapur guide. Nepal, like most parts of India do not take kindly to folks taking pictures of temple sanctums. In fact Nepal is even more strict in that they sometimes want you to check in your camera, and of course any leather items at the gate. I generally avoid visiting any place which prohibits photography, as a matter of principle, temples included, but this was an opportunity not to be missed, especially since this was but a subsidiary roadside shrine and not a main one.
