Summary[edit]

Description
English: Benchmark of general levelling in France, next to the entrance to the belltower of Èglise Saint-André de Bages, Pyrénées-Orientales, showing the level of 24 meters above the Mediterranean Sea. These iron seals were introduced by French topographer Paul-Adrien Bourdalouë. In the 19th century, he laid out a network of 15,000 iron seals across France, providing the country's first level-lines.
Français : Repère du nivellement général de la France (24 m) du réseau Bourdalouë, au pied du portail du clocher de l'Église Saint-André de Bages.
