| Description |
Nederlands: Bagage door Nederlands/Israëlische kunstenaar Ram Katzir ter herdenking van de vervolgde en vermoorde Joodse stadgenoten. Het monument bestaat uit zes natuurstenen koffers die verspreid over vijf locaties zijn geplaatst.
Uit Leiden en omgeving zijn gedurende de tweede wereldoorlog in totaal 270 Joden gedeporteerd en vermoord. De zes natuurstenen koffers gehouwen naar bestaande modellen uit de jaren dertig en veertig, zijn geplaatst op verschillende locaties met historische betekenis in de stad. Twee koffers zijn te vinden bij het voormalig politiebureau aan de Zonneveldstraat, dat fungeerde als zenuwcentrum van de razzia’s; een aan de overkant bij de Juridische Faculteit van de Universiteit Leiden, waar nu een internationaal recht en mensenrechten worden gedoceerd. De twee koffers aan de Herensteeg en Vliet bevinden zich in de nabijheid van een onderduikadres. De zesde koffer staat bij het voormalig Joods Weeshuis aan de Roodenburgerstraat 1a.
