Summary[edit]
| Description | New Orleans, 1994. Streetcars on St. Charles Avenue, Uptown. The streetcar in the foreground is the Ford Bacon & Davis car dating to the 19th century reused as maintenance car. To right is a RTA (Regional Transit Authority, which ran the buses and streetcars) work truck. The view appears to be related to the practice of the era: after Carnival parades on St. Charles Avenue, the small streetcar would clear the track just before passenger service was resumed. |
