Description

These seals are very cute. Look at the little ears. There were two seals lying side by side in the sun at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. The proud mommy was swimming nearby.

The seal is a marine mammal. Which means he is dependant on the ocean for a source of food. Their main diet is fish. All four of his legs are flippers, for swimming purposes. Eared seals, including the sea lions and fur seals, sport tiny external ears and can lift their bodies off the ground with their flippers. They have streamlined bodies which makes them excellent swimmers. They have virtually no tail. Seals make and hear sounds underwater.
