Summary[edit]

Description
English: Flash stool and pillow horse. Lace making equipment on display in Bedford museum. On the left is a "flash stool", with a candle for light and a "flash", a water filled globe acting as a lens, to concentrate the light on the work in hand. On the right is a lace pillow on a pillow horse. On the floor is a fire pot to hold hot ashes to warm the lacemaker and next to it a "hutch" made of rushes for storing flashes.
