English: BC-403 oscilloscope used as the A-scope display in the U.S. Army w:SCR-270 radar system. Photograph with callouts is from the service manual for the radar, War Department Technical Manual TM-11-1510, page 58. Controls include: Sensitivity, with an on-off switch, vertical position, focus, intensity and a large hand wheel that controls a phase shifter which can be used to determine a targets range. The last is accomplished by moving the target's pip under the vertical line on the face of the CRT. |
