Description
Català: El Monument a Narcís Monturiol es troba situat a la cruïlla de l'avinguda Diagonal amb el carrer Girona.

El projecte va ser encarregat l'any 1963 per la Mútua Metalúrgica de Seguros a l'escultor Josep Maria Subirachs, com a homenatge a Narcís Monturiol. Consta d'un bloc de formigó de 4,20 metres d'alçada com subjecció, en un buit, a la reproducció en coure del submarí Ictineu còpia de l'original a escala 1:17, el formigó en les seves dues superfícies grans està treballat amb marques regulars. En un altre bloc també de pedra, figura la inscripció: Barcelona a Narcís Monturiol, inventor del "Ictíneo", primer submarí que va navegar submergit al port de Barcelona el 28 de juny de 1859.

El Monumento a Narcís Monturiol se encuentra situado en el cruce de la avenida Diagonal con la calle Girona. El proyecto fue encargado en 1963 por la Mutua Metalúrgica de Seguros al escultor Josep Maria Subirachs, como homenaje a Narcís Monturiol. Consta de un bloque de hormigón de 4,20 metros de altura como sujeción, en un vacío, a la reproducción en cobre del submarino Ictíneo copia del original a escala 1:17, el hormigón en sus dos superficies grandes está trabajado con marcas regulares. En otro bloque también de piedra, figura la inscripción:

Barcelona a Narcís Monturiol, inventor del "Ictíneo", primer submarino que navegar sumergido en el puerto de Barcelona el 28 de junio de 1859.
