| Description |
c/n 208. Built in 1976, with her first flight on 18th May 1976. Total hours:- 22,296hrs, 55mins. Landings:- 7,810. Her final flight was a positioning flight on 15th August 2000, on BA002 from New York JFK to LHR. Since 2000 she has been stored at Heathrow. She was official donated to the British Airports Authority (BAA) on the condition that she remained on display at Heathrow. It was originally intended that she be displayed near Terminal 5, but she has remained near BA maintenance instead and is currently only just visible from ‘outside’. Her future seems unclear, with rumours of a move to Dubai, and more recently to Bahrain. There is, in my opinion, no more suitable location to display a British Airways Concorde than their home for their entire active life, London Heathrow. This long shot was taken from the airside viewing area on top of Terminal 4 at Heathrow. 22nd August 2017 |
