Description

Une monnaie en billon, appelée grand blanc de Bretagne, du roi de France, François 1er (1515-1547) de la branche Valois-Angoulême (1515-1589) de la dynastie des Capétiens (987-1792/1814-1848). François 1er est né à Cognac en Charente en 1494. Il épouse Claude de France, héritière du duché de Bretagne, le 8 mai 1514. C’est la duchesse de Bretagne mais elle ne s’y intéresse pas et cède l’usufruit à son mari. A/↓:FRANCISCVS:FRANCORVM:REX:BRITH:DVX: écu de France avec 3 fleurs de lis et un annelet en bas surmonté d’une couronne, accosté d'une mouchetures d’hermine couronnée à droite et d'un lis couronné à gauche. R/↓:SIT:NOMEN:DOMINI:BENEDICTVM:N: croix échancrée, moucheture couronnée aux 1er et 3e cantons, F couronné aux 2e et 4e cantons Dimension : flan irrégulier entre 25 & 25,95 mm de diamètre. Poids : 2,16 g Axe des coins : 8h Remarque : cette monnaie reste une monnaie typique de la fin du Moyen Âge car on n’y trouve pas de portrait, seulement un blason, des couronnes et des symboles comme la moucheture d’hermine et la fleur de lis.
