Description
English: This is a view of the trading post of Lamakera, set up by the Portuguese as a transit harbor between Molucca and Malacca in 1520. Lamakera is on the volcanic island of Solor located off the eastern tip of Flores island in the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia, in the Solor Archipelago. The view is set within German letterpress text. It was probably engraved by Matthaeus Merian
