Description
English: A view of the town of Madura on the island Madura and a fleet of four ships under the command of Cornelius de Houtman who led the first Dutch voyage to the spice islands. The ships were attacked by pirates on the way to Madura. In Madura, they were received peacefully, but de Houtman ordered his men to attack the civilian population in revenge for the unrelated earlier piracy.The view is set in Latin letterpress text, with descriptions of the voyages made by the Dutch
