Description
English: This map shows Willem Janszoon landing on New Guinea in 1606. It was first published in Janssonius' "Appendix" in 1630. The map was most likely based on a manuscript chart by Hessel Gerritsz, Williem Bleau's predecessor to the post of Official Hydrographer to the Dutch East India Company.
