Description
English: This is a map of Java with inset of the Port of Batavia by Abraham Chatelain. The most unusual apect of Chatelain's work is the extensive historical and geographical explanation included in two banners at the top of the map, as well as at the margins. It is taken from Volume V of Atlas historique ou nouvelle introduction à l'histoire a la chronologie et a la geographe ancienne et moderne.
