A cobalt atom trumpets its chemical importance to vitamin B12, and YOU!

Summary[edit]

Description
English: This image depicts the curvature of the electron density computed for the molecule cyanocobalamin (common form of vitamin B12). Green and blue colours represent local depletions of charge, while orange to pink colours represent local concentrations of charge, while white shows where charge is highly concentrated. The cobalt atom that is at the heart of vitamin B12 appears to have trumpets of charge depletion that allow it to bind to the rest of the co-enzyme, and do its chemical business of saving your life!
