Description
English: ´Photo of the Børsen, the neoclassist building of Oslo Stock Exchange (Oslo Børs) located at Tollbugata Street in Oslo, Norway.
  • The picture was taken on a sunny summer day in late July 2023 and shows the building, the park, or details from the location.
  • The Oslo Børs is Norway's only stock exchange and was established in 1819. The building's design is attributed to Christian Heinrich Grosch and was completed in 1828. In 1911, an expansion was carried out based on architect Carl Michalsen's plans. The bourse is surrounded by Børshagen, a park covering four acres and enclosed by a wrought iron picket fence.

Oslo Børs er Norges eneste verdipapirbørs, det vil si en regulert markedsplass for omsetning av verdipapirer, aksjer mm. Christiania Børs åpnet i Kristiania 15. april 1819. Selve børsbygningen, tegnet av Christian Heinrich Grosch, ble fullført i 1828 og åpnet året etter. Bygningen ble Norges første monumentalbygg etter 1814.
I 1911 ble børsbygningen utvidet etter tegninger av arkitekt Carl Michalsen.

Børsen ligger som en monumental, klassisk institusjonsbygning i utkanten av Kvadraturen. Bygningen er frittliggende og omgitt av Børshagen. Rundt eiendommen er et stakittgjerde av jern, dels av nyere dato. Hagen preges av flere store trær, gangveier og en merkurstatue i front av Grosch' fasade. Bygningen har to hovedfasader med klassisk tempelfront, den opprinnelige mot Tollbugata, og Michalsens fasade fra 1910 mot Rådhusgatas avslutning mot fjorden. Bygningen har fire fløyer som omkranser et lukket, rektangulært gårdsrom, som i 1988 ble overbygget med glasstak.
